''It is ever so much easier to be good if ones clothes are fashionable.'' - Anne Shirley

When I was younger, I always thought I would have a closet full of clothes that all suited me very well, and I would go through life elegantly and well-dressed, reading books, writing books and just being very happy. Of course, the latter three apply to me now, but that thing about being very elegantly and all that?

Well, let's say that I have a closet full of clothes and I still have hardly anything to wear. It is annoying, so last week I told myself I was going to find my own personal style.

I admit it, this is not even coming close to a post about period drama, or books, or writing, but since I also said this blog would be a little about my life, well ... here I go! I hope you all don't mind me blabbering on and on about clothes and what I like and that I like so many things that I might call myself a contradictory person etc.

But after searching on Pinterest I found a few blogposts about the subject and every single one of them said that I had to put all my clothes on my bed and decide with every one wether I love it very much or not. And then I would have this little pile of clothing items left over, and they would give me a hint of what I truly love.

Well, I did that and I couldn't figure out what kind of style THAT was. But it felt kind of nice having a more empty closet, it looked so neat. : )

Clothes one can find on my Pinterest board:

Okay. At least one thing is clear, I looooove sweaters. I don't know if that is because it's autumn right now, but I do love sweaters. And I also wished I had the haircolour of the girl in the green dress. : )

But anyway, I felt like sharing that with you. And actually, I now know a little better what I like. Finding six absolute favourite outfits out of at least 30, that's not easy. ; )

Also, the other thing that has been on my mind a lot lately, is the fact that I am soon, even before this year is over, turning eighteen. Sometimes it I am thrilled, but sometimes I get a little scared (just a little ). It is just that turning eighteen is so very different, it's quite a big step, actually.
Like closing even more of that chapter called childhood. Don't understand me wrong, I am not saying that I am not young or a child anymore when I turn eighteen (I will still jump in puddles or watch Cars (I know, weird, but I just like the plot so very very much) or build sandcastles when we go to the beach), but it is still, you know, a very different age than all the former ages.
It's like actually being almost a grown up. Think about it, in two years and a little month I will be twenty!

Okay, I will shut up. ; )

Have a great week!
(I will not be doing a lot of schoolwork *cheers happily* so that certainly counts for me!)

a random picture post

Hello! Lovely day, half sun, half clouds, half raining, typically something for Holland! (I don't actually know if you should write Holland or the Netherlands ...)

Today I would like to make a picture post, since I love pretty pictures. :)

The last one doesn't really fit in qua size, but I just thought it belonged among the pictures somehow. Maybe because it's blue. I am in a blue mood today. Not the sad blue mood though, just the happy one, the one of campfires in the snow and blue skies and the blue sweater I'm wearing, and the blue earings I'm wearing too, and blue eyes, and blue prints.
I am using a lot of ''ands'' in this sentence. Because I was in that mood too. =)

Hope you all have a delightful rest of the week!

Please call me Cordelia

''Please call me Cordelia.'' It's actually quite a pretty name, isn't it? Well, let's get to the point.
I am going to change the name Rebecca into Rebekka. That is because that is my name when it was given to me when I was born.

It might seem a little change, like changing Ann into Anne, but I think it is more like trying to change Anne into Cordelia, when I decided Rebecca sounded more elegant then Rebekka.

I don't know. I hope this is not confusing. I must admit I sound confusing to myself.

I am a Confunsing Person. Always have been, always will be.

... *akward silence when I read everything back and hope I don't sound weird* ...

So I will embrace the person I really am, and not the person I want to be.

It also felt a little like having a double life, one person here, an other person at blogger. Strange how a name can change things. Or, to be more accurate, how the spelling of a nam can change things.

But I am still the same weird me! With the rightfull spelling of my name.

I also would like to say that I am simply in love with the English language. Why isn't the Dutch language so beautiful?
Even a word like ''wisp'' is so much more glorious then the Dutch word (it's ''sliert''. Ew.)

-sumptuous
-lanky
-entangled
-sonder
-precious
-evolve
-ostentatious

... and so many more words that sound just better then in Dutch. Eventhough Dutch has its own set of pretty words, just not so much.

This is a Dutch word. :) It also means sweet, as in ''you are so sweet to me''.

New Header

The week is almost over and I am heading to a Saturday of reading North and South, writing my journal and trying watercolor paint for the ... what, hundredth time? (I can't seem to learn the techniques while thinking I master them completely.)

I also made a new header. I hope nobody minds me changing it all the time, but I have a hard time making a VERY good one, and I keep trying. But I thought this one came out fairly well.

I loved the picture of the cup with the roses, but it was a lot more difficult to fill in the rest of the page ...

Would love to know if you like it!

+ some pictures I found that I would love to have put in the above header, but didn't work out:
